I found out that my daughter’s school recently introduced coding as a core subject.
As an IT professional myself, I applaud the school to have the foresight to introduce such a critical skill for our future generations.
As a father, I’m somewhat at a loss as to how to go about helping my daughter learn how to code. I’ve self-taught myself new languages for many years, but have no idea how to teach someone else how to code!

I was recently introduced to Cayenne by a member of the Cayenne team. The concept behind Cayenne is to make creating Internet of Things applications much easier for new users just starting on the Pi.
The interface allows dragging and dropping of components, scheduling, and configuring triggers for events all through a web interface!

About a month ago, I was contacted by the Kano team and was offered an awesome chance to try out their amazing Kano Computer kit.

I received it earlier this month but didn’t get to play with it until now, but as they say, patience is a virtue!

The SD Card on my Raspberry Pi died this week. So I decided that this time, I’d use Salt to manage my Pi and not have to worry about backing up my configuration from the Pi itself as Salt would be managing it for me!
